Serial numbers are often obscured to prevent theft and fraud. By making the serial number difficult to read or remove, it becomes more challenging for thieves to resell stolen items or for individuals to tamper with the product and claim it as their own. Additionally, obscuring serial numbers can also help in tracking and identifying stolen items, as law enforcement and manufacturers can use the visible portion of the serial number to trace the origin and ownership of the product. **

Brands are often obscured in shows to avoid potential copyright infringement or to prevent giving free advertising to specific brands. By obscuring logos or brand names, the show can maintain a sense of neutrality and avoid any legal issues. Additionally, obscuring brands can prevent distracting viewers from the storyline or characters, as prominent brand placement can sometimes take away from the authenticity of the show. **

Distorted or obscured faces appear eerie because they disrupt our natural ability to recognize and interpret facial expressions, which are crucial for social interaction and communication. When a face is distorted or obscured, it creates a sense of uncertainty and unease as our brains struggle to process the information. This can trigger a primal fear response, as we are wired to be wary of the unknown or ambiguous. Additionally, distorted or obscured faces can also evoke a sense of mystery and intrigue, adding to their eerie quality. **

Additionally, widgets can cover the time on the home screen, especially if they are large or placed in a prominent position. These design choices can make it challenging for users to quickly and easily check the time on their iPhone. **
